Format rules
Know your university’s format before you edit
There is no single Indian thesis format. Each university sets its own, and the details matter to the office that receives your thesis.
Most universities publish a thesis manual or a set of instructions with the synopsis or submission forms. They usually specify paper size, margins (often wider on the binding side), font and size, line spacing, the order of preliminary pages (title page, declaration, supervisor’s certificate, acknowledgements, abstract, contents, lists of tables, figures and abbreviations) and the reference style. Some prescribe the style; others leave it to the discipline.
Before you send a thesis for editing, find the current version of your university’s instructions and send it with the draft. If you can’t find one, ask your research cell or supervisor; seniors’ bound theses are useful examples but may follow older rules. After the award: Shodhganga
Under the UGC’s regulations, universities deposit an electronic copy of every awarded thesis with INFLIBNET for Shodhganga, where it becomes publicly readable. The version you submit stays online under your name, which is one more reason to give the final proofread care.
Editing and similarity
Editing for language is a different task from reducing similarity. If your report shows high similarity, the cause is usually unattributed or over-long quotation, or text reused from your own papers without citation. Those need correct citation or genuine rewriting by you, which is what our similarity reduction service addresses.

Will you rewrite my thesis?
We edit your text for language, consistency and format, and where something is unclear we ask rather than rewrite. Your argument, findings and interpretation stay exactly as you wrote them. If a passage needs substantial rewriting, we flag it and you decide how to rewrite it.
Will my supervisor or examiners know the thesis was edited?
Only if you tell them, but professional editing is widely accepted and many universities expect you to acknowledge it in the thesis. We recommend you mention it to your supervisor. Because every change is tracked and approved by you, you can account for everything in the text.
Is thesis editing ethical?
Yes, when it stays at the level of language, presentation and consistency and you remain the author of the content. That is the scope of this service. Our ethics policy explains the boundary in full.
Can you guarantee there will be no errors left?
For a 200-page document, the realistic commitment is a stated scope, a checklist of what was checked, and a final proofread. If you find errors in the scope we covered, we fix them free of charge.
Will editing reduce my similarity score?
Not reliably, so we offer it as a language service. Similarity usually comes from how sources were used, not from grammar. We send a similarity report with the edited file so you can see the figure; if it’s too high, the cause needs to be fixed directly.
My thesis uses a lot of equations and notation. Can you handle it?
Yes, including theses written in LaTeX. We check notation for consistency and leave equations exactly as written. Tell us the software you used when you send the file so we edit in your format rather than converting it.
What if I don’t like the edits?
Because everything is in tracked changes, you can reject any edit. If the editing as a whole doesn’t match the sample you approved, tell us and we will re-edit the affected chapters or assign a different editor.
Is my thesis kept confidential?
Yes. Only your editor sees it, it is used only for your project, and we delete it on request after the work is complete. We’re happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
